Twitch reveals new Bleed Purple Statue to rival YouTube’s Play Button

Twitch has unveiled the Bleed Purple statue, the first physical achievement award to rival YouTube’s coveted Play button.

Launched in 2012, YouTube’s Creator Rewards program has made it possible to distribute millions of physical play buttons to creators around the world.

YouTube gives out awards when a channel reaches 100,000, 1 million and 10 million subscribers, and YouTubers like PewDiePie and MrBeast get special episodes for 50 and 100 million additional milestones.

Released on August 20, 2024, Twitch is now offering its first reward: the Bleeding Purple Statue.

The Amazon-owned website announced in a post on Twitter/X that the Bleed Purple statue will be awarded to streamers who reach 5 million, 50 million and 250 million hours.

“Introducing the bleeding purple statue. “Inspired by the Bleed Purple emote and awarded to streamers who have reached 5, 50 and 250 million hours played, it’s heavy, shiny and reflects the incredible dedication and passion you put into building a community on Twitch,” they said.

There is a video accompanying this post in which some of the celebrities on the podium receive their purple statuettes. Hasan, who has been observed for 250 million hours over the years, receives the grand prize, a chrome statuette.

After 50 million hours of watching, Minecrafter Tubbo gets a marble statue. Extra Emily, an OTK member who has watched 5 million hours, will receive a purple statue.

Broadcasters filled the comments with their thoughts, many of them excited about the new awards program.

One user said: “Okay, this is really cool!

Another person commented: I can’t wait to get my hands on it. ”

A third said: “This is a great achievement! The statue is amazing!”

This comes just a day after Twitch announced a new feature that allows streamers to dive into other YouTubers’ channels and request collaborations.
