The last few Alien films have generally been good, but they feel like they’ve lost the raw, destructive tension of the first films. The latest trailer for Alien: Romulus looks like the series is returning to its dark, claustrophobic roots.
Alien: Romulus introduces an entirely new crew of souls on a space journey who encounter a terrifying xenomorph on an abandoned spaceship. This time it’s a crew of space colonists searching for resources on abandoned ships and stations.
“Alien” was written and directed by Fede Alvarez, creator of cult horror films like “Don’t Breathe” and the remake of “The Evil Dead.” Yes, Alien: Romulus will be very tense and very bloody. While the original Alien featured a parasitic xenomorph on a crew member’s face, the Romulus trailer shows the face piercing a poor man’s head. Oops.
