Jake Paul claims influencer boxing is “dying” as he casts doubt on long-hyped McGregor fight

Despite being a poster boy for influencer boxing, Jake Paul pretended that the sport’s days are numbered as the scene is “dying out”.

According to Daily Mail on September 6, Paul, now aged 27, blamed fans for the sport that gained momentum with his brother Logan Paul’s fight against KSI in 2019 for having “grown tired of seeing the s***** punches”, calling fixtures sloppy.

Now that they are fans of the sport, I think they want to see like, more real, higher level skill. So it’s definitely dying out”, he continued.

After Mike Perry, a former UFC fighter whom he defeated in July, Paul’s next bout will reportedly be that with heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson.
A date with Tyson is penciled in for November, though there are still worries over if the match will happen, due to the latter’s health.
If Tyson, 58, has to withdraw from the bout he has stated that he doesn’t have a replacement currently.

Paul was asked to comment on a prospective bout with the Irish MMA superstar Conor McGregor. His response wasn’t exactly optimistic.

“I don’t think we will [fight], just because he knows what will happen,” the YouTuber said. The pair have traded blows on social media numerous times in the past, and Paul pulled no verbal punches this time, either.

“Conor has a fragile body,” Paul continued adding, “He’s known for getting injuries all the time. It’s basically like every camp, he was getting injured even in his prime. So he just needs to drink some milk”.

After his victory over Mike Perry in July, McGregor slammed the former accusing him of being the “biggest p***bag I have ever seen in my life”.

Jake Paul has lost just once in a boxing fixture so far and that came against Tommy Fury in 2023. You can find a detailed breakdown of the latter’s boxing record here.
