According to recent Fortnite leaks, the next season, expected to release later this year, will introduce new swinging and prone mechanics.
The Fortnite 2024 roadmap may have been revealed earlier this year, revealing the collaborations and events players can expect, but there could be a lot more coming to the game. Particle for direct object
Another leak has surfaced, this time revealing two new movement mechanics in Season 6, due out on December 1st, along with other gameplay additions.
We’ve seen similar mobility items that allow players to move around before, such as Spider-Man’s web-shooter and grappling gloves. So it will be interesting to see how they implement this in the game.
On the other hand, Prone is something completely new that has never been seen before in Battle Royale. Players who have played PUBG or other popular shooter games before will definitely not be new to this mechanic.
When prone, your character is essentially face down on the floor. They are most often used to hide from enemies, heal, recharge, or simply move around.
It is used to hide and attack an unsuspecting enemy without putting yourself in danger. It might be too early to think about Chapter 6, but only time will tell what the meta will look like once these mechanics are added to the game.
In addition to the two new movement mechanics, HYPEX also mentioned other additions such as possible new modes, creative pet support, and a possible floating island theme.
Another leak also suggests that a K-pop girl group will join the co-op game at the same time. All in all, it looks like the next chapter of Fortnite will have to wait.
