Deadrop finally gets new update after Dr Disrespect’s exit from studio

Midnight Society’s Deaddrop has received its first gameplay update since his departure from Dr. Disclaimer published on June 24th.

Dr. Disrespect is one of Deaddrop’s key founders and helped fund and lead the project, which has been in development since 2021.

The official Deaddrop account published its first X post on July 17th, sharing information from Midnight Society that the game has entered its founder testing phase and is one step closer to an Early Access launch.

“Although the last few weeks have been challenging, we are more confident than ever in our team, our work and our mission,” they said. “Our goal for DEADROP is the same: to develop the next generation of PvPvE mining shooters.

This week we are entering the founding testing phase, which will lead to the launch of Early Access in the coming months. This marks the beginning of the final phase of development.

At the end of June, Dr. Disrespect allegations about a Twitch ban in 2020. Four years later, Twitch employees began submitting evidence claiming he was banned for sending inappropriate messages to minors via Twitch Whispers.

On June 25, Deaddrop’s Midnight Society studio head Robert Bowling commented on Dr. Disrespect due to the company’s relationship with the company.

“If you send inappropriate messages to minors, I cannot work with you,” Bowling said. “Point. I promised to act only on the facts, and I have done so.”

On the same day, Dr. Disrespect issued an official statement on the Twitch ban rumors and admitted to sending inappropriate messages to minors.

At this point, the brands once associated with him began to distance themselves. Turtle Beach removed his headsets from their stores and the San Francisco 49ers announced they would no longer work with him.

Those interested in the Deaddrop Exam can access the Founder Exam by purchasing NFTs on the OpenSea Midnight Society website. Original NFTs can be purchased for $50, giving buyers exclusive access to Deaddrop and other perks.

These NFTs will still be available for purchase on OpenSea, but their resale price will range from $70 to $6,000 depending on your choice.
