Andrew Tate claims he’s being “set up” after houses raided by police

The Tate brothers were the target of a domestic attack in Romania on Wednesday after Andrew Tate claimed he had been ‘trapped’.

On August 21, DIICOT, Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, raided four homes as part of a human trafficking investigation. This includes Andrew Tate’s house in Bucharest.

Tate is currently awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking and rape. He and his brother Tristan have denied all the charges against them.

After the raid, Andrew was placed under house arrest for 30 days, and his brother Tristan was placed under court supervision for 60 days, so he was forced to regularly appear before the authorities, the Bucharest court said in a statement.

Speaking of house arrest, Andrew said it was “staged”.

At the beginning of his speech to the press, he told how he has been living in Romania for 10 years and how he has spent his time promoting Romania and its “beautiful people” to the world in order to get rid of Romania’s bad reputation.

He said: I was patient, I played the game. I have always respected the judiciary. I attended all of my appointments on time. But they also destroyed my house. And now they started saying 35 victims. Did you know that 30 of these girls made a statement in our defense?

Thirty people say we didn’t do anything wrong. The other two are the mothers of our children and the other two have never been to Romania.

He continued: “It’s a collection. It’s absolutely disgusting. 30 girls said we didn’t do anything wrong. Two of our children are mothers and they have never been here in Romania.”

It is clear that I am not a human trafficker… This is deliberate and designed to commit the most heinous crimes possible to tarnish our name.

The brothers were first arrested in 2022 along with two Romanian women, then placed under house arrest and not allowed to leave Romania until their release.

On July 5th they were allowed to travel within the EU. However, this decision was later overturned and he had to remain in Romania to await trial.

Under Romanian law, the Tate brothers face up to ten years in prison for human trafficking. Tietz denies all allegations related to human trafficking, rape and sexual exploitation.

However, if you are convicted of multiple crimes, particularly sexual assault, you may be given a longer sentence. Rape in Romania is punishable by up to 18 years in prison.
